What Your Digestive Health Tells About Your Skin

Do you also get swayed by advertisements and the relentless push of products that companies promote? If so, it's important to be mindful of what you put on your skin. Because many of these items contain more chemicals than you might expect, often do more harm to your skin than good. The true solution lies in improving and maintaining good gut health. Curious to know why?

Let’s break it down. Our bodies are home to millions, even trillions, of microbes that collectively form what’s known as the microbiome. Studies have shown that microbiomes exist not only in the gut but also on the surface of our skin.

These microorganisms, especially the beneficial bacteria in our gut, play an important role in maintaining balance by fighting off harmful organisms. When the good bacteria are depleted, our gut health suffers, which can ultimately lead to various skin problems. Therefore, a healthy gut microbiome is core to get glowy radiance. What is the Link Between Gut Microbiome and Your Skin

An interesting thing about the human body is that as living organisms on earth, we are also home to millions of microorganisms that live and thrive inside us. Our gastrointestinal tract is made up of a mucosal lining that acts as a home for these organisms. Including bacteroidetes, firmicutes, proteobacteria, etc.

This brings you to our main concept. Which is making sure we take good care of our gut health and skin hand in hand for healthy skin. If your gut is not healthy, your skin will face the consequences.

Multiple studies show direct relations between an unhealthy gut, poor metabolism, and skin issues. This connection helps us determine what is going on inside our bodies. For example, if you had a milkshake and you are lactose intolerant, you are most likely to suffer stomach problems. This will then show up on your skin as acne or other issues. Now you have an answer as to why you are experiencing acne breakouts. Instead of prioritizing expensive skin products, pay attention to what you eat.

What you put in your mouth, goes into the gut. Thus, if you have a bad diet and eat foods that don’t suit your digestion, it can affect your skin. Your stomach being upset is one sign your gut health is not being prioritized.

An unhealthy gut has been related to skin diseases such as acne, inflammation, unhealthy skin, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis, and alopecia, to name a few.

Now that you know the scientific version of what I had said earlier about the gut sending signals to alert the human body, in the form of skin problems and other issues. You can grasp that concept easily.

This was only the bad part about poor gut health. However, the good news is if your gut is healthy in terms of digestion it will show up on your skin in the form of healthy and glowing skin.

Here’s What Your Digestive Health Says About Your Skin

These problems are experienced by both men and women but can depend from person to person. Medicated creams can only provide temporary relief. The main thing is our gut. Thus, resolving matters there reaps better results.

How Poor Gut Health Aggravates Acne

Ads, Stores, and pharmacies claim to have acne creams that can solve world problems. But today, we not only have creams but anti-acne devices are coming up as well. You can learn more about these devices and their benefits here. Acne is formed as a result of oil clogging skin pores which results in pimples on the face and back as well.

Understanding why you get acne will take you one step closer to preventing it. You get acne as a result of an imbalance in gut bacteria.

To balance out your gut bacteria, you can take probiotics, which kill bad bacteria which was causing your acne. Resulting in reduced acne.

An Overreaction of your System Causes Eczema

When your habits alter your gut microbiome causing imbalances it shows up in the form of a skin problem called eczema. Your digestive health and immune system overreact to this imbalance causing eczema. Eczema is a skin condition that causes redness, itchiness, rashes, etc.

You can avoid eczema by making changes to your diet. Like eating more greens and plant-based foods. Eczema cannot be stopped but can be reduced through proper digestive health management.
